Privacy Policy
Effective date: December 2, 2025. SkipCast is designed to run entirely on your iPhone and iPad. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information about you.
Data Collection
SkipCast does not collect any personal data, usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports. Your podcast subscriptions, playback history, downloads, and app settings stay on your device and remain under your control at all times.
Podcast Streaming & Downloads
SkipCast connects directly to podcast RSS feeds and hosting servers to stream and download episodes. This is standard podcast behavior:
- Streaming: When you stream an episode, your device requests the audio file from the podcast's hosting provider. We do not intercept, modify, or track this connection.
- Downloads: Downloaded episodes are saved to your device's local storage. Only you can access these files.
- Podcast Discovery: When searching for podcasts, the app queries Apple's iTunes Search API. No personal data is transmitted in these searches.
- No tracking: SkipCast does not report your listening habits, download patterns, or preferences to any third party.
Permissions
The app requests minimal iOS permissions:
- Network Access: Required to stream and download podcast episodes from hosting providers.
- Local Storage: Used to save downloaded episodes and app settings on your device.
- Background Audio: Allows playback to continue when the app is minimized or your screen is locked.
All permissions are standard for iOS podcast apps and can be managed in iOS Settings.
Third-Party Services
PowerCord does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising networks, or cloud storage services. We do not share or sell any information because we never collect it.
